SUPPORT GROUPS
Support groups can help with issues such as low self-esteem, depression, anxiety and anger. You may benefit from support in a group with others who understand. The groups are informal, educational and relaxed. They are facilitated by an experienced friendly member of staff.
Groups that have been provided are:
Happiness Course
Anxiety Management
Understanding Depression
Understanding Anger
Be who you can be - self-worth/confidence
Due to the usefulness of these groups, further groups are being planned to run in the future. We also expect to introduce new topics such as ‘low self-esteem’ and ‘finding your own worth’, which will also run as small, supportive, informative groups.
Our policy is to introduce groups as the needs are identified. Should you be interested in a group for a specific topic please feel free to contact us, if we are not already planning a group in this area we will take your suggestion into account for future groups.
The feedback we have received from people attending the groups: “thank you for being there when I needed you. It was a really positive experience” and “It was so helpful to meet others going through something similar, very useful and supportive”.
At present we have paused our support groups through our counselling, however, hope to have them up and running again soon.
