You may be struggling with or feeling overwhelmed by issues in your life. Counselling can offer you the space and freedom to focus on your needs in a supportive environment. Working through concerns can help empower you to find more effective ways of managing. It can offer you a new clarity, providing resolution or solutions to difficulties.
Whilst counselling is particularly helpful in times of crisis and distress, it can also be of benefit to reflect on past events that may still be affecting you. It can also be helpful to explore behaviours and emotions to promote your own personal growth and development.
There are many different types of counselling; but in essence it is two people working together over a period of time where one (the counsellor) encourages and supports the other (the client) through their difficulties. The overall aim of counselling is to help clients help themselves to work towards a more positive future.
Our growing organisation, which has been established to meet the needs of our local community, has a team of experienced counsellors and support workers who are committed to providing a safe, friendly, non-judgemental, professional service.
All of our counsellors and members of and adhere to the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) code of Ethical Conduct.
A good place to seek help first is your local GP who will be able to tell you whether they think counselling will benefit you, however you can also contact us directly for an assessment.
Should you feel in any way unsure or require more information feel free to call us on 01384 239222.
